General Scenery
Some general scenery stamps show beautiful sights; a few countries have issued sets which contain a mixture of types of scenery. They combine something of lakes, mountains, rivers, bogs – any places that show the countries’ natural attractions. This New Zealand set has a mountain, lakes and a shoreline.
- #784 Mount Egmont
- #785 Cooks Bay
- #786 Lake Matheson
- #787 Lake Alexandrina, South Island
Another New Zealand set has a channel, lakes, glacier, mountain, and an island. They were issued as self-adhesives in a booklet of 10.
The top row:- #1354 Torie Channel, Marlborough Sounds between North & South Island
- #1355 Lake Wakatipu
- #1356 Lake Matheson
The bottom row:- #1357 Fox Glacier on South Island
- #1358 Mount Egmont / Taranaki
Some scenes without a focus are also demonstrated on stamps.
Sweden # 1242 – Brosarp Hills, with gentle rolling countryside.
Russia showed some scenery here:
- #2279 Crimea, showing trees & a bay
- #2280 Gursuf region, Crimea, on southern shore of Crimean Peninsula.
The following two stamps are originally about different topics, but I think of them as non-specific scenery:
- Poland #C53 shows a glider flying over a mountain pass
- US #C141 Yosemite National Park, showing mist over a lake and a cliff in the background.
